Race days in Cartmel are always a fantastic atmosphere — but with thousands of visitors in the village, things can get a little more full throttle than usual! All dining bookings are seated in our separate restaurant area, away from the main bar. However, if the Cumbrian weather decides not to play nicely, racegoers may head indoors and the pub as a whole can become extremely lively. For safety reasons, drinks in the bar and outdoor areas may be served in plastic cups on race days, although we’ll continue serving restaurant diners with glassware wherever possible. We’ll do everything we can to keep service running smoothly, and we thank you in advance for your patience, good humour, and understanding while the village is racing at full gallop.
